How to care for your candles for a safe and lasting ritual
Every Luma’s Home candle has been created to accompany your moments of calm, presence, and inner connection. Follow these steps to enjoy them fully and extend their life:
1. Trim the wick before lighting
Keep the wick around ¼ inch (6 mm) for a steady flame, less smoke, and even burning.
2. Allow the wax to melt to the edges
On the first burn, let the wax melt completely to the edges. This prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn.
3. Place your candle in a safe spot
Choose heat-resistant surfaces and keep away from drafts, windows, children, pets, and flammable objects.
4. Do not burn for more than 3–4 hours at a time
This ensures safety and preserves the quality of the fragrance.
5. Keep the area clean of debris
Remove wick trimmings, matches, or wax pieces before lighting for a clean burn.
6. Extinguish safely
Use a snuffer or lid; avoid water to prevent splashing wax or damaging the vessel.
7. When wax runs low
Stop burning when about ¼ inch (6 mm) of wax remains to protect the container and prevent overheating.
✨ Luma’s Home Tip: Every lighting is a mini ritual. Take a moment to breathe, observe the flame, and connect with your intention before beginning your day or your night of calm.
